How do we define Scope

To define the scope on a project, I follow a structured process. My first step is to review relevant historical documentation ideally a business case, idea creation or a project charter to understand the purpose and objective of the project. At this time I will ensure that we collect requirements from our stakeholders that map to the objectives of the project. The next step would be prioritize these requirements with the stakeholders based on their business value, level of risk, level of implementation difficulty, likelihood of success, regulatory or compliance nature of the requirements to develop common understanding or stakeholder agreement and consensus to form the PROJECT INCLUSIONS. These inclusions will be considered the scope of the project.
